Trying to Forget the Pain
When my grandfather passed away, I experienced a moment of undeniable divine intervention. I attended his funeral at the Catholic Church he had devotedly attended, yet at the time, I had lost all faith in religion. Still, as I stood there after the service, something within me urged me to make a quiet request: “If your spirit still exists in some way beyond this life, please send me a sign.”
But as the day went on, I pushed the funeral—and that request—out of my mind. The emotions were too heavy, too overwhelming. I didn’t dwell on it, and in fact, I forgot I had even asked.
A Message From Above
But about a day later, something truly unexpected happened.
At the time, my husband and I still used an old-fashioned alarm-clock-radio in our bedroom. That morning, at around 4 a.m., the alarm suddenly blared. We typically woke up around 6:45 a.m., so there was no reason it should have been set that early—let alone at full volume. The sudden noise jolted us both awake.
The song playing was a hit at the time, a country track called Honey Bee by Blake Shelton. My husband and I exchanged wide-eyed looks, feeling an unshakable sense that something significant had just occurred—but we couldn’t quite explain it.
Then, in a flash, I remembered the request I had made to my grandfather at his funeral. At that moment, it hit me—I had just received the sign I had asked for, in a way so undeniable and profound that I couldn’t dismiss it.
My Grandfather Is Now My Spirit Guide
Ever since that day, the song Honey Bee has seemed to find me during life’s most meaningful moments.
It played as I drove to celebrate my grandmother’s birthday with family. It came on the radio when my parents and my husband’s family took my son to his very first professional baseball game. It even played in the rental car during a big extended-family trip to Disney World. And the list keeps growing…
I’ve received so many Honey Bee signs at pivotal times that I no longer see it as a coincidence. Instead, I feel certain that my grandfather is still with me, watching over and guiding me—his presence unmistakable, even after all these years.
